1.Do something mom has always dreamed of

Moms put so much aside in life for their children. Now is the time to give back and do something she has always wanted to do!

This is the key to making this the best vacation with mom!

The trick is, moms can be secretive about what they’ve actually always wanted to do. They don’t want to burden others will their desires!

That’s why an Authenteco Experience is the perfect gift for moms!

The Concierge Team will ship your mom a gift box with the voucher for her Authenteco Experience, a guide describing what it is and how it works, plus a special note from you. Be sure to emphasize this Experience is for whatever mom wants to do!

Now mom’s imagination can run and her wildest dreams can come true!

2. Ask about her childhood

How much do we really know about our moms’ childhoods? She has lived a whole life, so I’m sure there’s much more we could learn!

Here are a few questions to get you started:

  • What is a major historical event you lived through that you’ll never forget? How did it make you feel?

  • What was it like living with grandma and grandpa?

  • What’s your favorite high school memory?

  • Did you have insecurities growing up? What were they?

  • What was your first job? Did you enjoy it?

You could also ask mom the 36 questions to fall in love! Although these are meant for a significant other, they’re deep questions that will reveal a lot about mom (and you!). Besides, maybe we want to love mom even more!

3. Be mom’s photographer

Recently, I was flipping through family photo albums.

There were tons of photos of my mom when she was younger, but not a lot of the person behind the camera—grandma. As time progressed, and the kiddos (aka, me) were born, there were a ton of photos of us, but not as many of mom.

Photos, and the memories and emotions those photos spark, are what we’re going to cherish for decades to come. Make sure there are plenty of them!

Take lots of photos of mom on her special adventure. It’ll guarantee the best vacation with mom!

Capture the way she looks at a delectable meal. Snap a candid of her awing at something that caught her attention. Photograph her loving life!

Don’t be afraid to ask other people for photos of the two of you either!

Photo Tip: When I ask strangers for a photo, I hand them my phone and ask them to click and hold the shutter button—even when we’re not posing. Yup, from the moment I hand them the phone all the way until I’m holding the phone again! You’ll end up with hundreds of photo options. Most of the photos will be blurry, but I guarantee there will be some awesome candid shots in there!

4. Share something you love with mom

We don’t see our parents as much once we move out of the house. Between phone calls and holiday visits, when do we really get to share something we love with our moms?

You’ve changed a lot since you moved out of the house, and your mom will surely want to see the wonderful person you’ve become!

Take advantage of your quality time together to share something you love with mom.

She’ll think it’s the best vacation with mom if you do this one!

Tip: If you can, make sure it’s something she’d be interested in too!

For example, if you’ve gotten into yoga recently, do a short YouTube yoga session together in the hotel in the morning!

Or, if you’ve gotten into a major adventure that you can’t necessarily do with your mom, bring photographs of these adventures and share the stories behind them! I did this recently with scuba diving photos!

5. Celebrate the vacation long after it ended

Although the Authenteco Experience was the Mother’s Day gift, that doesn’t mean the love has to stop there!

Your mom is likely wistful to be back vacationing with you again after such an incredible vacation. Keep the memories fresh with a photo album!

Photo albums aren’t very expensive when you use sites like Shutterfly to make them. They can take less than an hour to create, too, when you use a template!

It doesn’t take a lot of money or a lot of time to make a photo album, but it’s something mom will cherish forever and surely make this the best vacation with mom. She’ll love flipping through the pages and reminiscing the adventures you shared together!
