When to Start Planning your Perfect Stress-Free Honeymoon
For many couples, the honeymoon is often a well-deserved reward at the end of the marathon which is wedding planning. So, while it can seem a little outrageous to start planning your trip around the same time you start planning your nuptials, that’s actually the best time – especially if you want your honeymoon to be perfect.
By planning your honeymoon in advance, you’ll give yourself ample time to settle on a destination, make sure you will have availability for things such as accommodation and tours, and, if you’re using a travel concierge service like us, ensure you can get on our calendar.

Where to take take the Perfect Stress-Free Honeymoon
If the whole world is up for grabs, we recommend opting for a destination neither of you has visited before. There’s no better way to celebrate love than by enjoying new experiences, places, foods, and views together.
When it comes to taking the perfect honeymoon, we also believe it’s a go big or go home kind of scenario.
A honeymoon is a time to celebrate love, celebrate the two of you being together, and celebrate the beautiful commitment you have made to one another.
That’s why we think honeymoon vacations call for bucket list trips if it falls within your budget. If there’s a place, an experience, or a type of trip that has been on your mind for a while, this is the time to take it.
If your goal is to kick back and spend time relaxing with one another away from all the hustle and bustle of normal life, we recommend a trip to Todos Santos (Mexico), Maui (Hawaii), Costa Rica, or somewhere closer to home such as Colorado. Adrenaline and adventure junkies should look towards Iceland or Switzerland, and even an outdoor adventure trip to Alaska or Oregon. Those who don’t mind being constantly on the go might consider touring Greece and Italy (our signature trips) because they offer the ultimate blend of exploration, romance, food, relaxation, and sightseeing.
While we offer vacations to a select few destinations so we can truly call ourselves experts in eco-luxury travel in each of them, our calendar is open to other destinations (sometimes incurring a small fee for the extra research required). One thing to note: wherever your bucket list honeymoon takes you, you’ll want to make sure your dates work for your destination and that you’re not traveling in the wrong season. Many coastal European hotels and restaurants are closed during the off-season, so traveling there in February or March may come across some availability issues. In the same sense, European countries are often booming and bustling during the summer months, making it hard to get reservations and to sightsee without chaos ruining every image. We always recommend traveling in the shoulder seasons – April-May & September-November in Europe.

When it comes to taking the perfect honeymoon, having plenty of down time is important.
Remember you’ll be exhausted after the build-up to the wedding and the big day (if you’re traveling afterwards), not to mention the jet lag if you’re heading overseas.
Be sure to build in some extra ‘leisure’ days to your honeymoon itinerary. Since a honeymoon is often the trip of a lifetime, people have a tendency to want to do everything. But, it’s important to relax too. You don’t want to exhaust yourselves!!! Plus, it’s important you get one on one time to really soak in the love that you have for one another.
