How To Maximize Your Time Off In 2023 And Travel More

Do you dream of taking more time off work this year?

Over the last few years, we've all learned just how precious life can be.

How easy it can change.

This is why it's important to make the most of every moment and spend time with the people you love doing the things you love.

So, if taking more vacations is something you want to do more of in 2023, we're here to tell you how you can double your paid time off this year!

Using our guide, you can take more trips this year – and it’s effortlessly easy.

But timing is everything. If you wait too long, some vacations – like the perfect trip to Iceland in August or the luxury Tuscan Castles you've always wanted to stay in over the summer – will have already been booked out.

Make sure you book your vacation early!

WHEN TO BOOK

Mark these dates in your calendar and get the most out of your paid time off this year.

May/June

Book four days off to get nine days of holidays

There are two opportunities to get nine days of vacation by using just four days of leave in May/June.

If you plan for a vacation starting on May 27th, just before Memorial Day, you’ll be off for a nine-day stretch that ends in early June.

Later in the month, you have another chance to do the same. Booking your break around Juneteenth on the 19th gives you another nine-day run that starts on the 17th and ends on the 25th.

A trip to Greece, anyone?

July

Book four days off to get nine days of vacation

If you start your break on July 1st and go to the 9th, you’ll get Independence Day off on the 4th. You need to trade just four days to make this nine-day summer vacation happen.

Just think about all the destinations you could visit in that time.

September

Book five days off to get ten days of holiday

In early September, from the 1st to the 10th, booking five days off around weekends and Labor Day on the 4th gives you ten days of vacation time.

Don't forget, Iceland in September is the perfect time to visit – without all the crowds and with a chance of seeing the northern lights!

October

Book five days off to get ten days of holiday

If you book off from the 30th of September to the 9th of October, you can have ten days, too.

This is because of the weekend and Columbus Day on the 9th.

November

Book four days off for nine days of holiday (or even more!).

Veteran’s Day falls on a Saturday in 2023, so we get a substitute day on Friday, November 10th. If you book four days off, you can get nine vacation days using the weekends.

Later in November, we have Thanksgiving on the 23rd, the country’s most commonly paid vacation day. Booking four days off here gives you another opportunity to get nine days off from the 18th to the 26th.

OR, combine them all, and take a 17-day vacation from the 10th-26th of September using nine days of leave.
